It is good to have an end to journey towards;
but it is the journey that matters, in the end.

DAVENA MGBEOKWERE, LCSW, RYT 200
Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Certified Yoga Instructor

Feeling overwhelmed, sad, worried, tired, or disconnected? Feeling uncertain or off, and not quite sure why you’re feeling that way?

These are perfectly normal ways to feel as we navigate this human experience. But you can live life more at ease and you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Through therapy and/or yoga, I am here to hold space for you and to help you tap into your strengths and connect to your wholeness. You are the expert in your life. I’m simply here to support you in discovering what works best for you. I offer compassion and non-judgmental inquiry, encouraging self-reflection. Laughter, movement, breath work and evidence-based interventions define my style.

My goal is always for you to feel empowered to achieve your goals and create the change you desire in your life. The teens, adults and families I have worked with feel genuinely supported and are better able to manage the ups and downs of life, achieve their goals and regain the confidence they need to feel and be whole in every area of their life. Let me walk with you on your journey.

Yoga:
My yoga journey began over 5 years ago, as an effort to seek balance within my body, and has morphed into finding balance in all areas of my life. After each class, I feel calm, relaxed, energized, happy and hopeful. It is my experience on the mat that has inspired me to teach. As I always tell my students, mat time is YOUR time. I incorporate my training as a therapist into each class. My classes focus on providing a space for you to explore what brings you balance and helping you discover the connection between your body, thoughts and feelings.

Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned veteran, join me for class. I infuse relaxation and fun into your self-care routine!

Professional Background: Over the last 7 years, I have worked with adults, children, and families who have struggled with everyday life challenges, self-esteem issues, finances, health, relationships, parenting, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Health Coach, and a Registered Yoga Teacher. I earned a Master’s in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Tar Heels!).

Personally: When I’m not working, you can find me exercising or practicing yoga, traveling, reading, listening to music, spending time with my family and friends or eating! Because I strongly believe in balance and rest, when I’m not working, learning or working out, I’m likely binging a reality TV show.
